About Us

All around us, people have yet to experience this type of home. Not just a shelter, but safety.

Karen Reynolds is a neighbor, mentor, and bridge-builder with a deep passion for intercultural connection and community transformation.

Her work has taken her from refugee resettlement in Georgia to service trips in Kenya, Macedonia, Palestine, and beyond. She holds a Master’s in Intercultural Studies from Fuller Seminary and served on nonprofit boards that support displaced families and global ministry efforts.

Rooted in her own experience as a leader, volunteer, and spiritual mentor, she believes that true community is built not through programs, but through presence. Uncommon Neighbor was born from that belief—a desire to create space for people to move beyond casual connection into purposeful, life-giving relationships.

She believes that living missionally is not reserved for a few but is a daily invitation for all to reflect God’s love by intentionally showing up for others, wherever we are planted.
